Anna Sokolova is a multi-award-winning contemporary artist, illustrator and author based in Berlin, Germany.
Anna works with mixed media and is inspired by merging traditional and innovative techniques, creating art with intricate details, literary depth, and dreamlike quality. Anna's work combines beautifully drawn, almost idyllic imagery with a slightly visible darker undertone. She is also known for her Modern Delft Blue technique, a contemporary take on the historical blue-and-white art form, which adds a refined aesthetic to her Magical Realism artworks.
Anna is the author of the book Brilliant Inks, an internationally published guide to colored ink painting techniques.
Born and raised in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg), Anna began her art studies there and later graduated from Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. While studying, she became professionally involved in visual narrative projects, participating in exhibitions and working with publishing houses and authors.
Selected collaborations include Netflix, Wired, Tombow, ImagineFX, and Maison Margiela. Her Netflix Originals series received a Highly Commended honor at the World Illustration Awards, while her project for Maison Margiela’s Artisanal Collection earned a Silver Medal at the Society of Illustrators Annual Exhibition.
As a member of the NYC Society of Illustrators, Anna collaborates with international and local professionals on unique artworks and projects.
